Dr. Claudio Zanobini
CTO & Co-Founder
Claudio brings extensive experience in optical technologies and software development, blending years of research expertise with practical industry innovation. Holding a PhD in ultrafast laser spectroscopy from the University of Zurich, he specializes in developing high-precision optical systems and advancing cutting-edge technologies. At SwissOptic AG, Claudio has played a pivotal role in the development of optical metrology systems, medical applications, and automated software solutions for the semiconductor industry. His expertise spans from concept development to deployment, bridging the gap between research and real-world implementation. Known for his dedication to continuous learning and strategic thinking, Claudio drives technological advancements, optimizing complex systems and pioneering new product prototypes. Dr. Ajay Arun
CEO & Founder
Ajay brings a dynamic blend of expertise in optical systems engineering, project management, and executive leadership, honed through years of research and hands-on industry experience. Holding a PhD in laser-plasma interactions from the University of Jena and a dual master's degree in Applied Photonics, he specializes in leading the design and management of advanced optical and laser-based systems. At SwissOptic AG, Ajay spearheaded the development of cutting-edge optical systems for the semiconductor industry, from concept creation and prototype evaluation to large-scale production and troubleshooting. His prior experience at Instrument Systems GmbH involved managing camera-based color measurement systems, where he drove innovation in system development, algorithms, and software solutions. Beyond technical excellence, Ajay has a proven track record in strategic decision-making, customer engagement, and resource management. His ability to drive operational growth, align technology with business goals and foster innovation positions him as a visionary leader committed to shaping the future of the optical engineering industry.

Prof. Brunner is a leading expert in atmospheric sciences, specializing in air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and remote sensing applications. He has been involved in several European Space Agency (ESA) missions, utilizing satellite-based technology to study atmospheric composition, air pollution transport, and environmental monitoring. His research focuses on improving climate models and air quality forecasting to enhance environmental policy and sustainable development.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Würsch

Industrial AI and Machine Learning
Prof. Würsch leads the Industrial AI team at the Institute for Computational Engineering (ICE) at OST, focusing on developing machine learning algorithms for optimizing industrial processes. His expertise includes applying AI to sensor data, data analysis, and automated decision-making. Prof. Würsch's research helps improve efficiency and precision in various industries by using AI to enhance sensing technologies and data interpretation for complex applications.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Wieser

Geosensors, Engineering Geodesy & Remote Sensing
Prof. Wieser is an expert in geospatial engineering, with a focus on geodetic sensor systems and remote sensing technologies. His research includes the integration of multi-sensor data for precision measurements in structural monitoring and environmental change detection. He has worked extensively with satellite, LiDAR, and radar data to improve remote sensing accuracy, especially in geodetic and environmental applications. His work enhances the reliability of measurement systems used in space exploration and infrastructure assessments.

Dr. Gerrit Kuhlmann

Remote Sensing & Space Applications
Dr. Kuhlmann specializes in remote sensing for atmospheric monitoring, particularly the use of airborne and satellite technology to measure CO₂ emissions and air quality. He has been actively involved in the Copernicus CO2 Monitoring (CO2M) mission, developing methods for accurately quantifying greenhouse gas emissions from urban and industrial areas. As a member of the Space Innovation Steering Committee, Dr. Kuhlmann supports the advancement of space applications for environmental monitoring, bridging research and practical implementation.

His leadership at SwissOptic involved overseeing the development of innovative optical solutions for various industries, including the semiconductor and medical technology sectors. With a strong background in quality management and mergers & acquisitions, Herbert brings valuable expertise in strategic planning and operational excellence to our advisory board.

Egon Hämmerle
Founder, HIC Hämmerle Interims Management & Consulting GmbH
Egon Hämmerle is the founder of HIC Hämmerle Interims Management & Consulting GmbH, where he offers his extensive experience from over 20 years in leadership positions across high-tech companies. His expertise spans operations management, production, supply chain, and project leadership. Prior to founding his consulting firm, Egon held significant roles, including EVP Global Operations at VAT Vakuumventile AG, where he was responsible for global manufacturing facilities, sourcing, and supply chain management. His deep understanding of operational processes and innovation management provides strategic guidance to our initiatives.
